Alkaline and Acidic Foods

Here is some information on alkaline and acidic foods.    Learning about the differences between these two types of foods is an interesting study.  There is also an alkaline food list to reference.

Having a diet with about 70-80% alkaline foods will help to create a healthy ph balance in your body.

Eating foods high in acidic ph can cause serious degenerative diseases if someone eats primarily from the acidic list.

When your body is working at its best, it can maintain its own ph balance.  But when it gets stressed or you are overconsuming acidic foods it then has to work harder to filter the foods that you are digesting, and is then more susceptible to health issues.

The ph scale determines if a food is acidic or akaline.  The scale runs from 0 to 14. Foods low in acid are alkalizing to the body.  Body fluids must be between 7.35-7.45 on the ph scale to function optimally.  Too much acid and you can get a condition called acidosis.  Too much alkaline and you have alkalosis.

So the question is, how do you keep your ph level in balance? The optiminal guideline for you to remember is 80% alkaline and 20% acidic foods. This will assist your body to be able to maintain its own ph level.
