The Raw Food Transition at Raw Food Diet Magazine

Hello raw foodies

I am Rhonda and I recently took over the Raw Food Diet Magazine from Mary Jane. What a privilege it has been to work with Mary Jane over the past year in a half and I have to say I have learned a lot from her. She has been a light to me as a mentor and as a friend.

I have studied holistic nutrition for many years and have been a vegetarian and a vegan for many of those years. Several years ago I was invited to a friends home in Palm Springs to learn about going raw. I was more than a little skeptical, but I am so glad that I attended the 4 day weekend as it made me a believer in the power of raw foods.

Going into the retreat I was feeling at a real low energetically, and I was stressed out and my hormones were more than out of balance. After those 4 days, I felt the energy flow and glow. There was definitely something in this raw stuff that I was not aware of. I went on a mission to find out what was in raw food that could bring about such a shift.

As I began to do my own research, I took a raw food course by David Wolfe on raw foods. I learned about the live enzymes and nutrients that you don't want to cook out of plant based foods.

I began to find all kinds of jazzy ways to add more raw foods into my routine to infuse the body.

Adding in more raw foods has changed my life. Most days you can find me experimenting in the kitchen, making smoothies and delicious raw food dishes. Otherwise you can find me in the office working on the Raw Food Diet Magazine, radio production, and working on animal non-profit organization.

I will be sharing my recipes, tips, information, and nutritional facts here on the site so I invite you to drop by whenever you can for a visit.

My belief is that you do not need to be 100% raw to gain the benefits of raw foods. Just start where ever you are and add in a smoothie or a salad every day. Take small steps and build and you will find where you want to go on your raw food journey to be your very best!
